Michelle Lynn Royal, 33, Raytown, MO passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012.
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. A Celebration of Michelle’s life will be at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westwood Cancer Center for Bone Marrow Transplant or the Michelle Royal Memorial Fund; P.O. Box 16913, Kansas City, MO 64133.
Michelle was born September 4, 1978 in Independence, MO the daughter of Alan S. and Nancy L. (Prestidge) Royal. She was a 1996 graduate of Raytown High School. Michelle received her B.A. in 2001 from Northwest Missouri State and completed her M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix. She was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. Michelle was employed with the YMCA Greater Kansas City Corporate office in the accounting department. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, reading and crossword puzzles. Michelle battled leukemia since the age of 19. During that time she made sure those around her left with a smile.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dean and Jane Prestidge; paternal grandfather, Talmadge Royal.
Survivors include her fiancé and love of her life, Michael Kinnard; parents, Alan and Nancy (Prestidge) Royal; sister, Jennifer Beal and husband Scott; nieces, Jordyn Navarro and Emily Beal; paternal grandmother, Joyce Royal; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
