Joanne McConnell Royle passed away June 9, 2007 from complications after a long and courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones and died peacefully in her home. Joanne was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area and a 1956 graduate of Northeast High School. She was employed by the City of Independence in Water Pollution Control for 26 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Helen McConnell. She is survived by her four children Michael J. Royle and wife Gwen of Parkville, MO, Douglas S. Royle and wife Judy of Leawood, KS, Leisa Crick and husband Tom of Independence, MO and Lori Royle of Independence, MO. Her sister Sharon Thomas and husband Merlin of Tulsa, OK and her brother Jack E. McConnell and wife Mary of Overland Park, KS. Joanne has seven grandchildren, Brandon, Brooke, Michelle, Zack and Adele Royle and Jacob and Dylan Crick who will miss her greatly along with many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. Service of Christian Burial will be 1:00 pm, Thu. June 14, 2007 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 Lee’s Summit Rd., Independence, MO, with the visitation being held from 11:00 am until service time at the church.
