Harold Rucker, 90, of Blue Springs, MO passed away June 12, 2012. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, at Blue Springs Cemetery. Harold was born November 17, 1921 in Sedalia, MO to Ellis and Orma (Teter) Rucker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a flight instructor during WWII. He graduated at the age of 19 from CMSTC (now UCM), Warrensburg, MO. In 1986, Harold retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., after 40 years. During his professional years, he served as President for many associations. After retirement he enjoyed volunteering for Camp Blue Bird, where he helped terminally ill cancer patients build bird houses. Harold’s true passion was his family. He was patient, kind and completely devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ethel Mae Hartman; and son-in-law, Richard Hilderbrand. He is survived by one daughter, Linda Hilderbrand; one son, Larry Harold Rucker and wife Joan; three granddaughters; eight great grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Rucker. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
