Paul L. Runion, Sr., 83, Independence, MO went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 27, 2014. He was surrounded by his family and friends. Paul was born September 20, 1930 in Lamar, MO. He owned and operated Accurate Scale Company for over 50 years. Paul was a member of Colbern Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and reading his bible. He married the love of his life, Betty McGuire, she survives of the home. Additional survivors include his daughter, Paula Joiner and husband John of Spring, TX; sons, Paul Runion, Jr., of Independence, Tom Runion and wife Kristy of Lamar; daughter, Susan Richards and husband Jim of Kingsville, MO; 15 grandchildren and additional great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother, Earl Runion; and sister, Darlene Gardner. He was preceded in death by his granddaughters, Kendahl Runion, and Amy Robinson; two sisters, two brothers, and his parents. Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Mount Washington Cemetery with his son in law, Reverend Jim Richards officiating.
