Max graduated with a Master’s degree in Wildlife Biology from Western Illinois University and went on to work for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources as a wildlife biologist for forty years. His responsibilities included monitoring chemicals in natural streams, taking census of wildlife numbers, tracking migration patterns, and writing informative articles for the community. Max had a passion for nature, land and wildlife, and spent his life dedicated to preserving our country's natural resources and animals.
Max earned his pilot’s license and relished taking flight whenever he had the opportunity. He also loved to sail, ride his bicycle, and walk in the woods – his faithful dog, Nick, was never far from his side. Max was always a fan of jazz, and recently began enjoying the music of Josh Groban.
Max leaves behind his life partner of 32 years, Marilyn Lee as well as his two daughters: Carolyn Triebold (husband Mark) and Rhonda Dolan and his five grandchildren: Grace, Jack, & Corinne Dolan and Cole & Brett Triebold.
