Dolores Joan "Dee" Runyon Smith (Case)

Dolores J. “Dee” Runyon Smith, 81, Higginsville, MO passed away Dec. 28, 2016. Graveside services will be 11 am, Sat., Dec. 31 at Buckner Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday at Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams, Buckner, MO 64016. Dee was born March 8, 1935 in Chillicothe, MO and graduated from high school there. She a founder of the Buckner Senior Center and was a coordinator at the Englewood Center in Gladstone, MO until her retirement in 2011. Previously she had been the bookkeeper at J.B. Russell Lumber Company in Buckner. She enjoyed fishing, working in her flower garden, playing bingo and going to the casinos. She also loved the Chiefs, NASCAR and was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Dee was preceded in death by brothers L.A. Case, Sr. and Gary O. Case. She is survived by her husband Neal Smith, of the home; son Tim Runyon and wife Theresa, Buckner, MO; step-daughters Kristin Schlumburger and husband Jeff; Sonya Vickers and husband Terry, all of Liberty, MO; Sheri Dawn Espino and husband Mario, Lee’s Summit, MO; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
