Ruth C. Faith, born on September 10, 1945, in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, in Independence, Missouri, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. She was a cherished individual whose warmth and kindness affected the lives of many.
An alumna of Pleasant Hill High School, Ruth took pride in her education and grew to embody the spirit of fun-loving curiosity throughout her life. Known for her vibrant personality, she embraced every opportunity for enjoyment with a zest that inspired those around her. Ruth's early career encompassed a variety of roles, reflecting her versatility and work ethic. She held positions at Hushpuppies Shoes, Bank of the West, and Western Electric, where she contributed her skills and dedication. However, it was in her later years that Ruth found her greatest fulfillment as a homemaker, nurturing her family and creating a loving environment for them. Additionally, she worked as a bookkeeper for her husband Jim’s business, Townand Country Drywall, demonstrating her unwavering support for her family’s endeavors. Ruth had a love for bowling, participating in a league during her younger years. Her love for the sport extended beyond that, as she took on the role of a coach in youth leagues, imparting her skills and enthusiasm to the next generation. She thoroughly enjoyed vacationing and treasured memories made on road trips with Jim and their family, particularly in Branson, where they spent quality time together. Beyond her love for travel, Ruth relished in the quieter pleasures of life such as reading, solving crossword puzzles, and engaging in games designed to keep her mind sharp. Her flair for calligraphy showcased her artistic side, with her beautiful penmanship being a testament to her careful attention to detail. A significant highlight of Ruth's life was her deep connection with her husband, Jim. The couple met in 1969, a meeting that blossomed into romance. Recognizing their special bond after only a few dates, Ruth and Jim were married in June of 1972, pledging to cherish one another for all their days together. Their union was a partnership characterized by mutual respect, support, and unwavering love.
Ruth's passing was preceded by her parents, Lloyd and Elsie (Ferguson) Collins and her grandson, Branden Tucker. Her legacy of love lives on through her husband, Jim Faith; her children, Ron Tucker (Sheri), Randall Tucker, and Lisa Faith Long; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Ruth’s life will be celebrated with a visitation on January 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Carson-Speaks Chapel, located at 1501 W Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64052. Following her service, a graveside will take place at Mound Grove Cemetery.
