Wayne M. Sallee, 86 of Clinton, MO died at the age of 86 on January 18, 2017 at the Veterans Home in Warrensburg, MO. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Monday at the chapel. Donations may be made in his name to the Missouri State Veterans Home, D-Unit. Wayne was born December 7, 1930 in Independence, MO to Velma and Earl Sallee. Wayne served in the US Navy from 1949 to 1953. Within a week of discharge, he married Marise Honeyball and they were married 63 years. He retired from Hallmark Cards in Kansas City after 33 years. Wayne was a man who enjoyed travel and outdoor activities. He worked hard and helped anyone he could. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Marla Flaherty and his brother Delbert Sallee. Wayne leaves the love of his life, Marise; daughters, Laura Sallee of Pagosa Springs, CO, Linda Flaherty (James) of Clinton, MO, his grandsons’, Dalton Flaherty (Kenzie) of Golden, MO and Ethan Flaherty (Svea) of Greenwood, MO; his brother, Ron Sallee of Harrisonville, MO, sister, Violet Sands of Osawatomie, KS, Sylvia Honeyball of Joplin, MO, Kathryn Short of Independence, MO and many nieces and nephews.
