Billy E. Sanders

Billy E. "CHIEF" Sanders, 71, of Independence, MO passed away on October 2, 2005 at his home. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, at the Dwight Mission Cemetery, Sallisaw, OK. Bill was born on May 2, 1934 in Vian, OK to Hooley and Telitha Sanders. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. Bill retired from the Local #541 in Kansas City, MO where he drove a concrete truck. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and most of all he loved his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his five brothers, Jack, John, Mose, Charlie and Gus; and two sisters, Katherine Hill and Glennie Wilson. Bill is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sandy Sanders of the home; three daughters, Brenda and husband Glenn Lujan, Ginger and husband Bart Jones and Cindy and husband Kip Jones; one son, Billy and wife Barbara Sanders; two brothers, Sonny and Tom Sanders; two sisters, Mary James and Jane Vandenboom; eleven grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Jeremy, Stacy, Dalton, Indiana, William, Shey, Charlene, Brandon, and Brandie; one great granddaughter, Nevaeh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
