They lived in Green Ridge for 4 years, and in 1941 they moved to Smithton and lived there for 8 years. In 1949 they moved to Windsor, MO and Carl graduated Windsor High School in 1955. He went to work for Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler as a farm hand until he went into the Army in 1960 for 2 years until honorably discharged in 1962. In 1963, he came to Kansas City to work. He was hired by Phillips Petroleum where he worked for almost 19 years filling orders and driving a truck. Shortly thereafter he was in Windsor to visit his family; he stopped at the gas station to get gas. Lee was also there asking for directions. Her friend Phyllis and Lee were on their way to the Lake of the Ozarks and were lost! Little did we know then this was a romance to last a lifetime. They have been married 2 weeks shy of 54 years. He supported our family for the next 4 years, doing side jobs, until he was hired by TWA airlines. He worked for TWA for over 16 years, and just 1 year before retirement TWA was purchased by American Airlines. He retired from American Airlines in May of 2002. Once retired with the help of family and friends my Dad built a phenomenal garage that measures 28 feet X 40 feet for all of his toys at the Lake of the Ozarks. We have 2 of almost everything, including kids! He loved spending time at his home at the lake with his Family and Friends. He loved to drive his Mach 1 boat.
