Carla Alina Sanders, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022, at her residence. She was 54 years of age.
Carla was born on February 8th, 1968, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Carl and Lee (Fantin) Sanders. In 1986, she graduated from Truman high school and went on later in life to earn her bachelor’s degree at Devry University. She was employed at YRC as an Office Specialist. Carla loved to be on the water, whether she was boating, jet skiing, or relaxing at the family lake house in the Ozarks- The lake was her happy place, she made many memories there. She was a tremendously caring and loving person, always there for you no matter what the circumstances were. When Carla hugged you, you felt Carla's love. She always had the most beautiful smile on her face and you definitely knew she was always going to make you laugh. Carla had many good friends.Her friends knew when she walked in the door, the party was about to get started. Carla was loved by many and especially her two best friends. She always said she got the best of both worlds with them by her side.
Carla is preceded in death by her father, Carl Sanders; uncles, Cecil Sanders and Al Fantin; and her maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her mother, Lee Sanders; brother, Craig Sanders; nieces, Courtney Schmidt, Lanie West (Jake); nephew, Hunter Sanders; great nieces, Nulla Schmidt, Piper Coffman; her best friend of over 50 years, Tammy Earls (Paul); best friend, Katrina (Brian) DeLuca; aunts, uncles, extended family and many friends.
A visitation and service will take place on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, Missouri 64055. Family will greet guests between the hours of 9-10am, with service to follow at 10am. Carla will be laid to rest in the mausoleum at Mt. Olivet, Raytown, Missouri. Entombment will follow service.
