Marcia Sanders, 63, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Monday, February 26, 2018. A visitation will be held from 1-3pm on Friday, March 2, 2018, at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO, 64055. A memorial service will follow at 3pm at the chapel.
Marcia was born on April 18, 1954, in Bethany, MO to Donald and Betty Craig. She was baptized in the Van Brunt Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Raytown High School in 1972. While working at Armco Steel she met the love of her life, Bruce Sanders, and they married November 19, 1979. Together they raised 2 children. After the closing of Armco Steel she worked at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant and retired from there. In her spare time Marcia enjoyed gardening, genealogy, sewing, traveling, reading and art. Most of all she loved laughing with her grandkids. She was the best Nana.
Marcia will be remembered by her husband Bruce Sanders of Lee’s Summit, MO; son Jeffery Sanders and wife Laura of Boston, MA; daughter Alisha Aeschleman and husband Scott of Lee’s Summit, MO; her parents Donald and Betty Craig of Bethany, MO; sister, Cathy Craig of Kansas City, MO; grandkids: Ellie, Charlie, and Alexa Aeshleman, Benjamin Sanders, and another grandson in route; her dog Hurley; and several other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her brother Curtis Craig in September 2017.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the National Parks Foundation.
