Rosalind K. Sanders, age 80, of Independence, MO, passed away on December 15, after a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann�s Catholic Church in Independence on Monday, December 19th at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. at Carson Speaks Chapel in Independence on Sunday, December 18th. Rosary will start at 7 p.m. Rosalind was born December 6, 1925, in Fredericksburg, TX, to Peter and Catherine (Backer) Kleck. She attended St. Mary�s High School in Fredericksburg and moved to San Antonio after graduation. During WWII, while working as a civilian chief clerk for the US Army in Miami, FL, she met her husband, Jack Sanders. After residing in Louisiana for the first few years of their marriage, the family moved to Independence, MO, in 1950. Rosalind worked for Sears Roebuck & Co., and later was the Food Buyer for all of the cafeterias of the Kansas City School District. Rosalind also worked many years as a volunteer for St. Ann�s school where she set up and ran the first school library. Rosalind had many interest, including sewing, gardening, cooking and volunteer work. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin. She was always there for her children, whom she loved dearly. She was renowned for her pies and cheese ball. She will be gravely missed by friends and family alike. Rosalind is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jack Sanders, and her three sons, Michael, Stephen and Bill, plus seven grand children and one great-grandchild.
