Sandra Kay Tompkins

Sandra Kay Tompkins passed away unexpectedly on December 10,2024, at the age of 81. Born on September 3, 1943 to Robert and Elsie (Nevils) Neidig, Sandra was a kind and gentle spirit who touched the lives of many throughout her years.

 At the young age of 14 Sandra met her soulmate Michael at church one day. They then spent the rest of their lives creating memories together. To that union came 2 children, Christina and Michael. Sandra embraced her role as a homemaker. Her commitment to her family and the well-being of those around her defined her life, and she approached each day with warmth and grace.

 Sandra enjoyed bowling at Sterling Bowl, a shared pastime with her late husband Mike, with whom she shared many cherished memories. Together, they also spent over 15 years working at the Rockwood Golf Course, where they fostered friendships and shared their enjoyment of the game.

 Sandra was an avid reader, often found lost in the pages of a good book. She enjoyed cheering on her favorite sports teams, the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. Her vibrant personality and zest for life made her a cherished friend and a source of joy for those who knew her.

 As we remember Sandra, we celebrate the kindness she extended to everyone, her loving nature, and the many special moments she shared with her family and friends. 

 Sandra is survived by her children, Christina Wilson (Steve) and Michael Tompkins (Dianne); brother, Robert Neidig; grandchildren, Lani Frazier and Sabrina Wilson; great-grandchildren, Laila, MaKaila, Khloee, Charlee Sue, Jaxson and Vincent. 

 She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Anthony Tompkins. 

Per Sandra’s request there will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Sandra.
