Yoland M. Sapp, 80, of Independence, died July 15, 2006 at Independence Regional Health Center. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Cremation will follow. Yoland was born on February 27, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Wilson Carrol and Anna Kathryn (Arnold) Peacock. She will be remembered for her loving, thoughtful deeds and sense of humor. Yoland enjoyed reading, gardening and helping those in need. She was a volunteer for Scouts and organized Neighborhood Council. She was a member of Mt. Washington United Methodist Church where she was an active volunteer. She married Marion M. Sapp on May 21, 1942, he predeceased her on November 27, 1993. She is survived by three daughters: Linda Leaton (Joe) of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Jana Phillips and Lisa Danahay (Jim) all of Independence, two sons, Dennis Sapp (Sharon) and Brian Sapp all of Independence, Mo., two sisters, Twila Watkins (Reg) of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Elle Bowles of Liberty, Mo., five grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
