Shirley Ann Sartain (Crist)

Shirley Sartain, 78, of Stockton, MO passed away on Monday November 29, 2021 at North Care Hospice House. A visitation will be from 6-8:00 pm Wednesday, December 15 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence, MO. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 16 at Central Assembly of God, 1009 W. 23rd St., Independence, MO with burial to follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery

Shirley was born March 31, 1943 in Brookfield, MO to Irl and Shirley (Mendenhall) Crist. She graduated from North Kansas City High School and married Leon Sartain. Together they raised three children: Eric, Bryan and Jennifer. Many fond family memories were spent together at the lake where Shirley enjoyed driving the boat and watching hummingbirds and deer. Shirley enjoyed reading, cooking, puzzles, and darts, and she and Leon were members of the Missouri Shuffleboard Association and traveled to many competitions throughout the state.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 59 years, Leon; son, Eric Sartain (Kathy); son, Bryan Sartain (Walter Morrison Jr.); daughter, Jennifer Sartain (Jeremy Chelf); eleven grandchildren: Trish, Kristi, Matthew, Joshua, Sonya, Ryan, Dustin, Christopher, Joseff, Skylar, and Chase; nineteen great-grandchildren; sister, Andrea Cox and husband Fred; and host of extended family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wendell L. Crist and sister, Mary Louise (Crist) Olson.
