Della Sawyer

Della Mae Sawyer, 98, Springfield, MO, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away July 5, 2013. Services will be 10 am, Wed., July 10 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday at the chapel. Inurnment at Mt. Washington Cemetery will take place at a later date. Della was born June 5, 1915 in Moberly, MO. She worked at the Bendix plant in Kansas City for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Independence. She was also active in the Ararat Shrine as a member of the Chanterettes, the Shrine Needle Guild and was a Shrine Golden VIP. Della is survived by her husband Harold Sawyer, of the home; daughter Geraldine Estes and husband Cliff, Brookline, MO; and grandson Darin Weathermon, Battlefield, MO.
