Max Miller Saxton

Max Miller Saxton, Independence, MO passed away Oct. 7, 2006. Services will be 10 am, Wed., Oct. 11, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Disabled American Veterans, Post #10, Independence, MO.
Max was born May 30, 1921 in Kansas City, MO to James and Dorothy Saxton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Independence. He was also a past Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America, past Commander of the Queen City Chapter, Post #10 Disabled American Veterans, past Golden Rodent of the National Order of Trench Rats, Dugout 44, and past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star, East Gate Lodge and a Mason.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Saxton, Jr. and his wife Eula I. Saxton. He is survived by sons Tim Saxton, Galena, MO; Ted Saxton, Independence, MO; daughter Twila Starkey, Hammond, LA; brother Kirk Saxton, Lee�s Summit, MO; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews and nieces.
