Charles Cecil Saylor was born March 11, 1939 and passed away on June 4, 2022 at the age of 83. He was born in Sweet Springs, Missouri and grew up in that area. After being stationed briefly at Fort Ord Army Base in California he spent the majority of his adult life living in Independence, Missouri.
Charles worked in stained glass, plate glass and auto glass as his profession. He retired in 2001.
Charles loved babies, bluebirds and gooseberry pie. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife in his yard when his health kept him from being able to be in the woods any longer.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Cecil and Iva Saylor, one sister, Edna Mae Saylor and his beloved son, Kevin Saylor.
He is survived by one sister, Tootie Speake, two daughters, Cheryl Jones (husband Mark), Lori Boyd (husband Rick), a daughter-in-law, Melissa Saylor, seven grandchildren, Michael Jones, Jennifer Ireland, Stephen Jones, Adam Boyd, Eric Boyd, Chase Saylor, Blake Saylor and three great-grandchildren, Emily Ireland, Luke Ireland and Owen Jones.
He was a quiet, patient, loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
