Kevin Saylor went to be with the Lord on July 24, 2019 at the age of 51 years old. Kevin was born and raised in Independence, MO. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1986. Growing up Kevin was active in Boy Scouts and church. Kevin married Melissa Skinner on October 15, 1994. They have two amazing sons, Chase and Blake, of which Kevin was extremely proud. Their God centered home in Independence is a place filled with fun, encouragement and love for one another. Kevin was a life-long lover of the outdoors. He loved fly fishing, hunting and just viewing God’s creation from the seat of his motorcycle. Kevin worked as a journeyman plumber since 1986. Kevin was also skilled as a carpenter and mechanic. He was generous with his time and talents. Many friends and family benefited from his help on projects. Kevin used his skills to help build Church of the Four Corners where he was active as a safety team leader. Kevin loved the Lord and lived his faith daily in how he spoke kindness and worked to serve others. Kevin is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Melissa Saylor, two sons: Chase and Blake, his father, Charles Saylor, his mother, Lois Judd, his father in-law and mother in-law, Gerald and Florence Skinner, two sisters: Cheryl Jones (husband Mark) and Lori Boyd (husband Rick), a brother in-law, Jerry Skinner (wife Ali), niece and nephews: Michael Jones, Adam Boyd, Jennifer Ireland, Eric Boyd, Stephen Jones, Keely Skinner, William Skinner and Dominic Deck, a great niece and nephew: Emily and Luke Ireland, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A visitation will take place from 6:15-7:00 p.m. followed by a service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, at Church of the Four Corners, 14300 E. US Hwy 40, Kansas City, MO 64136. A private graveside service will take place at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
