John L. Scaccia, 95, of Lee�s Summit, MO, formerly of Raytown and Independence, passed away on Wednesday, December 1st at Wilshire at Lakewood Health Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Monday, December 6th at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Michael J. Wheat Scholarship Fund c/o Kehoe France School, 720 Elise Ave, Metairie, LA 70003, Kansas City Hospice or the American Heart Association. John was born April 6, 1909 in Brooklyn, NY to Louis and Frances (Molinaro) Scaccia. Mr. Scaccia worked for the Federal Government for 40 years. After his retirement, John and his wife spent 29 years in Port Richey, FL. Mr. Scaccia had been very active in NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) holding several leadership positions. John loved spending his spare time planning all of the details of trips he would take with his wife. Mr. Scaccia is survived by his wife of 69 years, Natalie R. (Sferrazzo) Scaccia, son and daughter-in-law Louis and Sue Scaccia of Raytown, MO, grandchildren Chris and Doug Tuttle, Becky and Kevin Peck and David Steffens; great-grandchildren Dani, Michelle and Erin Tuttle, Trevor and Spencer Peck; sister Anna Gatto of Brooklyn, NY. John was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Angie and Mary; daughter Frances Marie and grandson Micheal Wheat.
