Sherry Louise Scarlett, 73, of Independence, MO passed away January 6, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Funeral services will follow visitation at 11 am at the chapel. She will be laid to rest next to her son and grandson in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Sherry was born on May 20, 1943 in Triplett, MO one of 9 children born to Elroy and Julia (Littrell) Evilsizer. She was a long time member of Soul's Harbour Assembly of God. Sherry loved her church and her church family. She enjoyed volunteering where she could help others. Sherry was a very strong, and independent. After retiring from Kmart she started working for Blackburn school in the food service department, where she remained for the next 10 years. In that time she also had the privilege of raising her 2 grandsons, Jeff and Nick till adulthood. She loved her family above all else and was pleased that she was able to spend time with her great-grandchildren. She also shared a special bond with her children and grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be forever missed! Survivors include; son John Scarlett (Kim) brothers Walt Evilsizer (Bonnie) and Danny Evilsizer; 5 grandchildren Becky Scarlett, Jeff Scarlett (Amanda), Jason Scarlett, Megan Scarlett; 2 Step-Grandchildren Chris Myers and Renee Myers; 7 great grandchildren Emily, Ethan, Tiffany, Taylor Brandon; Josh and Eli; 1 Step-Great Grandchild Haley; former husband John E. Scarlett; a large extended family and many friends. Sherry is preceded in death by; her parents; son Jeffrey Scarlett; grandson Nicholas Scarlett; brothers Ray Evilsizer, Larry Evilsizer, Richard Evilsizer, and Russell Evilsizer; and a brother and sister that passed away in infancy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may to made to Soul's Harbour Assembly of God.
