Armond Schelp

October 30, 1926 — November 13, 2017

Armond Schelp, 91, of Independence, MO passed away November 13, 2017 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, MO. A visitation will be held from 6-7:00 p.m. followed by a 7:00 p.m. memorial service on Friday, November 17, at First Christian Church of North Kansas City, 2018 Gentry, North Kansas City, MO. Armond was born October 30, 1926 in Concordia, MO to Edward and Lena (Lange) Schelp. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during WWII and the Korean War. Armond never knew a stranger, and will be remembered as a man who truly loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as all of their significant others. He was preceded in death by his parents; and six siblings. Armond is survived by five children, Leanna Guse of Hot Springs, AR, Karen Hanes of Independence, MO, Mike Schelp of Gladstone, MO, Kathi Graham of KCMO and Gary Schelp of Independence, MO; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and four siblings, Harold, Warner, Melba Hughes and Ed.
