John Paul Schinkel, 64, of Sugar Creek, MO, passed away on Wednesday April 12, 2023, at his home. He was born on April 13, 1958, in Patras, Greece. John was a pipeline manager for the Kansas City Water Department. He was a huge history buff and knew everything there was to know about almost every war, sports event, and major events throughout history. Some would call him the human google. John was always five steps ahead of every argument and succeeded very far with debate club at a younger age, even landed him a trip to New York. He was an avid Royals fan and was always ready to cheer them on. John loved all dogs, and all dogs loved him, more than anything though he loved his grandbabies.
John is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Musayeva (Anar Musayev) and Laura Schinkel, grandchildren Alekos and Athena Musayev, sister Linda Schinkel, and nephew David and Michael Jackson. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Margaret (Gilcrest) Schinkel.
A memorial service will be held for John at 3pm on April 21,2023 at Speaks Suburban Chapel (18020 E 39th St Independence, MO 64055). The family requests everyone attending wear Royal’s gear to help celebrate John’s life.
