Marlyne R. Schooler, 77, Independence, MO, died November 15, 2022, at Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence, MO.
Marlyne was born February 25, 1945, in Independence, MO. She was a graduate of William Chrisman High School class of 1963. She spent many years and countless hours volunteering at Independence Regional Health Center and served as President of the Auxiliary. She loved making candy and cookies at Christmas and her homemade toffee was legendary. Every year she made mountains of it to give to anyone and everyone that she saw during the holidays. She was generous, giving and loved helping others. She almost always had a smile on her face.
Marlyne and her late husband Jim were Chiefs season ticket holders in the 70's and 80's and rarely missed a game. After retiring in 1981, they enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Mexico, the Bahamas, Alaska, and many other locations. She looked after her two youngest grandsons when they were little and spending time with them was her greatest joy in her last years.
She is survived by one brother Charles Searcy, two children Todd Schooler and Amy Waters, six grandchildren Dakota Schooler, Dillon Schooler, Lauren Schooler, Katherine Schooler, Connor Alderman and Ry Waters, and one great-grandson Gavin Schooler.
