Rose Marie Schorr, 77, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A service will be held at 10am on Friday, February 1 at the chapel.
Rose was born on July 21, 1941 in Kansas City, MO. She met her husband, Jack Schorr, one day at a stoplight when he tried to race her. She declined but they met up anyway and set a date. They were married on June 4, 1960 and raised two children together. Jack and Rose loved working around automotive and being a part of the local racing circuit. She never missed one of Jack’s races. Together they ran Schorr’s Noland Road Transmission service for over 30 years. Rose loved taking care of people, especially her family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years, Jack Schorr, of the home; daughter Kimberly Ferguson and husband Frank of Gravois Mills, MO; son David Schorr and wife Terri of Grain Valley, MO; sister Connie Burton and husband Jack of Independence, MO; brothers Ronnie Grigsby of Leavenworth, KS, and George Grigsby, Jr. and wife Pat of Missouri; grandchildren Billy Ferguson (Lauren), Christopher Ferguson (Francesca), Vincent Ferguson, Heather Sebben (Tony), and Dustin Schorr; great-grandchildren Frankie Ferguson, Leo Ferguson, Annabelle Rose Ferguson, Kimberly Fontana Ferguson, Brooklyn Kueck, and Braxton Sebben; plus several other extended family members and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Nicholas Schorr in 1992.
