Jo was born and lived the first few years in Ames, Iowa. Her family moved to Boone, Iowa when she was young. She went to Sacred Heart Catholic School. She married John Scott after high school. She had several jobs over the years. Her final one was as an Administrative Assistant with Marion Labs in Kansas City.
The job she felt was most important was Mom. She has five children: Jim Evans (Terese) of Waterloo, Iowa; Patty Scott of Lawrence,KS; Barb Spencer (Don) of Lee’s Summit; Mike Scott (Alice) of Rockville, MD; and Matt Scott (Christine) of Fairfax, VA.
She has five grandchildren: Julie and Anna Spencer, Emily and Jackson Scott and Sofia Scott. She also leaves two siblings: Bill Selzer and Marilyn Chamberlin.
She joined the following family in Heaven: her parents, William and Lulu (Kemerer) Selzer, and sister, Eleanor Selzer Connell.
Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12th, 2019 at 11:00am at Grace United Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit, MO. Reverend Hubert Neth presiding. Please join us for lunch after the service.
In lieu of flowers, offer donations to: One Community Hospice 15600 Woods Chapel Rd. Suite A; Kansas City, MO 64139 or your local animal shelter.
