Shirley Ann Scott (Horton)

Shirley Ann Scott, 84, Prairie Village, KS passed away Jan. 14, 2016. Services will be 2 pm, Wed., Jan. 20 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 pm before the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Mid-America Chapter, 6811 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Ste. 202, Shawnee Mission, KS 66202. Shirley was born June 18, 1931 in Kansas City, MO. She worked at International Harvester (Case IH) and later at Federated Insurance. She enjoyed quilting with her daughters. She dearly loved her mother and was the “Best Memaw” ever! She will be deeply missed. Shirley was preceded in death by husband Joe M. Scott and daughter Valorie Scott-Smith. She is survived by daughters Tami Scott, Kansas City, KS; Rainie Jazeh and husband Alex, Overland Park, KS; Tina Scott, Kansas City, KS; sons Lindin Scott and wife Deb, Olathe, KS; David Scott, Prairie Village, KS; son-in-law Eddie Smith, Overland Park, KS; grandchildren Michael, Farrah, Samantha, Linzey, Joe, Holly and Mac; six great-grandchildren and her beloved dog Sugar.
