Stuart A. “Scotty” Scott, 82, Independence, MO passed away June 27, 2018. A memorial visitation will be 6- 8 pm, Monday, July 2 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 S. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; cremation. The family requests contributions to Village Heights Community of Christ Congregation, 1009 Farview Drive, Independence, MO 64056 or the Community Services League, 404 N. Noland Rd, Independence, MO 64050. Scotty was born Nov. 7, 1935 in Medoc, MO and graduated from Carl Junction High School. He was a ready mix truck driver for over fifty years before retiring in 1999. He drove for Kansas City Concrete and Botsford Ready Mix which was later purchased by Lafarge. He was a member of Community of Christ Village Heights Congregation and of Teamsters Local #541. He enjoyed his vegetable garden, fishing, boating and mushroom hunting. Most of all he loved his grandchildren. Scotty was preceded in death by three sisters and a grandson. He is survived by his wife of thirty-one years Alice Scott, of the home; sons David Scott and wife Teri, Lenexa, KS; Mark Scott, Flower Mound, TX; daughter Kendra Howard and husband Jack, Trussville, AL; brother Richard Scott, Webb City, MO and five grandchildren.
