Susan Cecile "Suzi" Scott

Susan Cecile “Suzi” Scott, a beautiful soul, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 27th, 2020 in Independence, Missouri. She was 61. Suzi was born on July 23, 1959 to Benjamin and Helen Scott in El Dorado, Arkansas.
Suzi was a dreamer. After graduating from Fort Osage High School she went on to earn her Master’s degree and became a teacher. That’s when she started influencing the lives of hundreds of children using her gift and sense of wonder. Teaching was her passion. She taught kindergarten thru fifth grade students for over 30yrs. During that time Suzi helped to create a program that assisted in developing the standards of education. When she wasn’t working she would find her way to the peaceful sounds of the ocean as often as she could. She loved traveling with friends and family. Suzi was very active growing up. She enjoyed dancing, swimming, rollerskating, shopping and the theatre. She was also a very talented crafter. Suzie was an incredible, gentle, kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by everyone she met throughout her years.
She is survived by her father Benny; her sister, Sharon Yarbrough and husband Gary; her nieces, Jamie Hill and husband Jeff, Shannon Wilson and husband Russ and numerous great nieces and nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved mother Helen.
