Neal Scribner, 72 of Independence, MO passed away Friday, September 1, 2006 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday evening. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Research Association. Neal was born June 9, 1934 in Fredonia, KS to Sam and Lillian (O�Neal) Scribner. He graduated William Chrisman High School in 1952 and received a degree in engineering from the University of Kansas in 1956. Neal owned and operated Kendra Corporation from the mid 1970�s until he retired in 1998. He enjoyed operating Hamm Radio�s, camping, nature watching, traveling, weather spotting and bluegrass music. He was a member of AOPA (a airplane pilots association) and a Hamm radio club. He was married to Karen Crane in 1998, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; a daughter, Debie Shemwell and husband Jim of Omaha, NE; a son, Ken Scribner and his wife Jeanette of Kansas City, MO; his 1st wife Joan Pratt of Independence, MO; a sister, Janet Baker and her husband Marvin of Arlington, TX and 2 grandchildren, Gabriel Shemwell and Garrett Scribner.
