Ronald A. Sears, 43, died peacefully in his home on Friday evening after a long brave battle with the debilitating effects of Multiple Sclerosis. He leaves behind his most loved and beautiful daughter Taylor Ann Sears, 14, of Lees Summit and his sister Cindi Sears whom he shared a home with in Independence since 1998. He also leaves behind his dedicated and loving parents Gordon and Ena Sears, also of Independence, siblings Paul and Beth Sears of North Carolina and their 3 children, Steve and Mary Sears of Kansas City and their 4 children, and Vicki Shumate-Sears of Lees Summit and her daughter. Ron also leaves behind many wonderful friends, especially Jennifer Carter of Atlanta, GA and Lisa and Jim Carlson of Blue Springs, MO. After graduating from Raytown South High School in 1982, Ron was a successful and talented graphic artist in the Lees Summit area for many years before the devastating effects of MS took over his life, leaving him completely disabled. Although Ron was unable to speak the last year of his life, he could still smile, and Rons smile could light up any room. A memorial service to celebrate Rons life will be held on Wednesday, April 5th at 7:00 p.m. in Independence at South Crysler Community of Christ Church, 3100 South Crysler Road. Ron made the very selfless decision to donate his body to KU Medical Center. If you would like to make contributions of any type, the family suggests that you support KC Hospice, as they were a great comfort to Ron and his family in his final days. And also, please remember to visit the sick and to volunteer your time to those in need, it truly does make a difference.
