Mildred Mary Seck

Mildred Mary Seck, 88, Independence, MO passed away Aug. 11, 2006. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Wed., Aug. 16, 2006 at St. Ann�s Catholic Church, 10113 E. Lexington, Independence, MO. The Rosary will be said at 6 pm, Tuesday at the church, followed by visitation from 6:30-8:30 pm. The family suggests contributions to the Sisters of St. Francis, 2100 Noland Road, Independence, MO 64050.
Mildred was born Sept. 16, 1917 to Chris Wolken and Clara (Roeckers) Wolken in Scipio, KS. It was here that she married Albert Francis Seck at the St. Boniface Church on Dec. 30, 1939. They settled in Independence, MO and raised six children. Mildred later graduated from the University of Missouri with a Masters in Special Education. She was a mother, grandmother, a teacher, a volunteer, a mentor and a source of
inspiration and strength to all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, her parents Chris & Clara, brothers Bob & Art Wolken, sisters Christina & Mary Wolken, brother-in-law Keith Mayes and nephew Terry Wolken. She is survived by children Tom Seck and wife Julia; John Seck and wife Wicky; Virginia Stocker and husband Ronald; Chris Seck and wife Rosemary; Bill Seck and wife Kathleen; and Suzie Walkey and husband Alan; sisters Lillian Mayes; Annetta Butel and husband Tony; Jean Wolken; sisters-in-law Betty Wolken, Louise Wolken; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
