Roy Chester Seger, 91, of Sugar Creek, MO, passed away Saturday, December 18th at Rosewood Health Center. Services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, December 22nd at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Tuesday at the chapel. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Grandma�s Alzheimer�s Fund, c/o Truman Heartland Community Foundation, Commerce Bank, 300 N. Osage, Independence, MO 64050. Roy was born February 27, 1913 in Hermann, MO to George and Louisa (Ebker) Seger. He started his career with the Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1935 where he worked for 39 years before retiring in 1974. Mr. Seger was a member of the United Transportation Union (UTU) and the National Association of Railroad and Veterans and Employees (NARVE). Roy was a past member of the Heart of America Model A Club and the Metro Antique Auto club. He owned and operated Seger Custom Tractor Service from 1947 until 1986. Mr. Seger is survived by his wife of 67 years, Esther (Gast) of the home, sons and daughters-in-law Delmar and Virginia Seger, Gary and LaDonna Seger and Dennis and Patricia Seger; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; his sister Mabel Rohlfing; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Roy was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
