R.D. "Don" Sell

R.D. "Don� Sell 72 of Independence, MO passed away Monday, January 1, 2007 at the Medical Center of Independence. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday at the Carson-Speaks chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Don was born June 14, 1934 in Independence, MO to Wilbur Leona and Marguerite (Sherman) Sell. He had worked as a homebuilder owning and operating Best Drywall and RD Sell Construction in Independence for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Unity Church of Independence; he was a 32nd Degree Mason, the Ararat Shrine, Order of the Quetzalcoatl, Jackson County Shrine Club and Royal Order of the Jesters court No. 54 who will be conducting a rose ceremony. He was married to Christine (Infranca) on December 20, 1996, she survives of the home. Survivors include; a son Gary Sell and his wife Carla of Independence, MO; a daughter, Donna Nichols and her husband Glen of Independence, MO; a brother Leon Sell and his wife Phyllis of Blue Springs, MO; 2 grandchildren Kristi Vallejo of Grain Valley; 2 great grandchildren Connor and Kylie Vallejo; step children Greg and Kim Nickel, Stephenie and Ron Halterman and Allen and Jenny Nickel and 2 step grandchildren Nicholas and Jessie. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife Ethel Lucille Sell in 1994.
