David W. Sellars, Sr. 82, Independence, MO passed away Feb. 28, 2006. Services will be 10 am, Friday, March 3 at the Independence Trinity Church of the Nazarene, where he was a member; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 pm, Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Independence Trinity Church of the Nazarene Building Fund or the David and Jim Sellars Scholarship Fund at Drury University in Springfield, MO. David was born Nov. 4, 1923 in Montier, MO. He was a chief operator at Standard Oil in Sugar Creek from 1951 until he retired in 1982. David was the founder of Cub Scout Pack #204 and volunteered throughout the community in many capacities including serving as an election judge for many years. He was preceded in death by a son, Jim Sellars and a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Sellars. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Vera G. Sellars of the home; son David W. Sellars, Jr., Odessa, MO; daughter Janice Nagy, Independence, sons John Sellars and wife Bette, Springfield, MO; Steven Sellars and wife Sandy, Milwaukee, WS; Glenn Sellars and wife Lynnetta; daughter Joyce Kuder and husband Jim, all of Independence; brother John Sellars and wife Rose, Caruthersville, MO; twenty-five grandchildren and forty-six great-grandchildren.
