Alice Joy Shakespeare, 88, of Indep, passed away on Wednesday, Sept 18, 2013.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, Sept 23, 2013, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Indep, MO 64055, with interment in the Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, on Sunday, Sept 22, 2013 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to Outreach International, 129 W Lexington Ave, Indep, MO 64050.
Alice was born on July 3, 1925, in Indep, the daughter of Lilburn Roscoe and Cecile Eddie (Inman) Snow. Alice was a housewife and homemaker throughout her life. She was a member of Parkview Community of Christ for many years. Alice enjoyed painting, bird watching, reading and Royals baseball.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles Shakespeare, of the home in Indep; two daughters, Debbie Smith and her husband Larry, Blue Springs; and Marla Blevins and her husband Dale, Indep; eight grandchildren, Brian Mitchell and his wife Janine; Jennifer Mitchell and her husband Eric; Jay Smith and his wife Misty; Joel Smith; Jackie Smith; Melanie Blevins; Erica Nye and her husband Michael; and Carrie Semke and her husband Matt; and twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vera Henderson and Georgie Anderson, both of Indep; one brother, Lilburn Snow and his wife Elva, Warrensburg; and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, Robert Charles Shakespeare, one brother, Vernon Snow and one sister, Irene Earnhardt
