Scott Edward Sharkey 52, Liberty, MO, passed away February 11, 2015. Funeral will be Tuesday, 10am
February 17, Buckner Restoration Branch, 2607 N. Twyman Rd., Independence, MO 64058; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, February 16, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the education fund for his young sons. Scott was born and raised in Independence, MO. He was a graduate of Truman High School 1981, Truman University, and Missouri State University. He was an ardent reader and was particularly fond of history. He was an avid sports enthusiast, participating in track, swimming, biking and hiking. He recently climbed Mt. Elbert, CO twice with his father and sons. On a return trip down the mountain he assisted a lady with broken leg. He primarily worked as an accountant for Arthur Anderson Accounting, Shook, Hardy and Bacon, TV Station WB62, and most recently Toshiba. He was extremely proud of his boys and spent time doing sports activities and other shareable activities. He was a member of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, RLDS. He was active in Zion's League, and participated in trips to Navoo, IL and Kirtland, OH. Scott is preceded in death by grandparents, Ralph and Ruby Stacker, Wilmer and Louise Sharkey. He is survived by his wife, Heather (Tiner) Sharkey, sons Harrison, Brandon, and Grant. He also leaves his parents, Harold and Joan Sharkey, two sisters, Karmen Davenport and Kim Sharkey, and one niece Sydney Sharkey.
