Sharon Kay Miller

September 11, 1944 — February 8, 2025

Sharon Kay Miller, 80, of Springfield, Missouri, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb 8, 2025. She was born on September 11, 1944 in Kansas City, Mo, to Kenneth and Margaret (Arnold) Lisk. She graduated from Northeast High School, Kansas City, Mo in 1962. Sharon was married to the love of her life, Jimmie F. Miller, on October 9, 1964. She served the Lord in many ways throughout her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Raytown, MO for 53 years. Sharon was the pastor’s secretary for over 30 years. She taught Sunday School and Mother’s Day Out for most of her time at FBC. She was a member of the FBC choir and was a sponsor for many FBC youth choir mission trips. Sharon had a heart for missions; she was involved in Women on Mission and supported many missionaries with prayers and donations throughout her years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warm heart and unwavering faith in God.

Sharon was a member of Crossway Baptist Church, Springfield, MO. She found great joy in worship, prayer, and sharing God’s love with those around her. Sharon lived in the Creekside at Elfindale Community in Springfield and was very involved. She was on the welcoming committee and a Bible Study devotion leader at Creekside. Sharon loved to cook meals and bake cookies for others. 

She is survived by her children; Tricia L. Triplett (Steve) of Strafford, MO, Amy L. Brooks (Mark) of Milton, FL, grandchildren; Jake G. Triplett (Rachel) of Shawnee, KS, Katelyn A. Carroll (Brayden) of Birmingham, AL, John L. Brooks, Anna G. Brooks, Joseph I. Brooks, and James T. Brooks. and Sharon’s brother Steve Lisk, and sister-in-law, Marsha Lisk(Kenny A.) She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie F. Miller, her parents; Kenneth Lisk and Margaret Lisk; her brother Kenny A. Lisk.

Visitation will be held at Speak’s Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. South, Independence, MO, February 17, 2025. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:30 am with the service to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossway Baptist Church, Springfield, MO, in her honor.

Sharon’s kindness, faith, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
