Sharon Louise Williamson, a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, in Independence, Missouri, at the age of 81. She was born on August 29, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter to Jack and Sara (Blackwell) Cook, where her vibrant spirit and love for life began to take shape.
Sharon was a dedicated paralegal, whose intelligence and wit made her a respected figure in her profession. Her colleagues admired her not only for her abilities but also for her remarkable sense of humor that could light up even the dullest of workdays. Beyond her career, Sharon was a spirited sports enthusiast with an unwavering loyalty to the Chiefs and a passion for following the Royals. Her energy and zest for sports endeared her to many and brought family and friends together in shared excitement during game days.
An avid reader, Sharon also found joy in golf, often expressing how the game mirrored her approach to life: it was not just about the destination, but the pleasure of the journey. Her appreciation for the simple pleasures in life was evident in the time she dedicated to her hobbies.
Sharon’s greatest pride came from her family. She often spoke about her loved ones with glowing affection, celebrating each milestone with uncontained joy. She was a nurturing wife to her husband and a devoted mother to her children, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, her heart swelled with pride as she watched her family grow. Sharon took great delight in her animals as well, treating them as beloved family members who brought comfort and companionship into her life.
Though her parents have preceded her in death, Sharon leaves behind a legacy that will continue through her loving husband, JD Williamson; her children, Scott Webster, Doug Williamson, Mike Williamson, Gwen Tao, John Williamson, Susan Mindham; her 21 grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren; extended family and dear friends, all of whom were fortunate to be embraced by her boundless love and kindness. The memories they created together will forever be treasured, serving as a beautiful testament to the bonds that she fostered throughout her remarkable life.
As we gather to remember Sharon, we celebrate not only her accomplishments but the joy she brought into our lives. Sharon Louise Williamson will be deeply missed, but her spirit will undoubtedly live on through the stories, laughter, and love she so generously shared with all who knew her.
