Evelyn Sharp, 91, of Lee’s Summit, MO and formerly of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 where the rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 in Osawatomie Cemetery, Osawatomie, KS. Evelyn was born April 4, 1921 in Greeley, KS to John and Elizabeth (Liell) Miller. Mrs. Sharp was a founding member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. She was a beautician and had her own home shop. Evelyn enjoyed bowling, baking and reading in her spare time. She is survived by her sons Alvin C. Sharp, Jr. and wife Marian, Randy Sharp; grandchildren Ronald Lee Winn and wife Lisa, Krysti Hunsberger and husband Cody, Aaron Sharp, Abby Seider and husband Nathan, Maggie Sharp; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother Lyle Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband Al in ’08; daughter Mary Ann; granddaughter Melissa; two brothers and one sister.
