Wilbur Lee Sharp, 80, Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Country Meadows Baptist Church: 4901 Lee’s Summit Road, Kansas City, MO 64136. Inurnment will be private at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wayside Waifs.
Wilbur was born March 1, 1932 the son of Edgar and Lillian (Thrasher) Sharp. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Wilbur began working as a bricklayer and later retired from T.W.A. as an instrument mechanic. He was a member of Country Meadows Baptist Church. He enjoyed building remote control airplanes, flying his Cessna, and riding his motorcycle.
Wilbur was preceded in death by his son, Kevin in 2006; and his wife, Sharon on June 6, 2012.
Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly Bott; niece, Sherry Platter; and great niece, Jennifer Reed; his companion dog, Abby; and granddogs, Maggie, Jessie, and Bella.
