Bertha F. Shaw, 71, of Buckner, MO passed away, Monday, June 18, 2007 at her residence. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel followed by cremation. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the chapel. Bertha was born January 3, 1936 in Independence, MO to Delbert and Iva (Westmoreland) Patrick and has been a lifelong area resident. She worked as a homemaker and was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles and reading. She was a baptized member of the Baptist church. She was married to Arlin Shaw, for 54 years, on April 3, 1953, he survives of the home. Other survivors include; 3 daughters, Lois Short of Bates City, MO, Linda Shaw of sugar Creek, MO and Kathy Lamson of Camden, MO; a son, Charles Shaw of Higginsville, MO; a sister, Mildred Crawley of Independence, MO; 3 brothers, James Patrick of Independence, MO, Norman Patrick of Warrensburg, MO and Melvin Patrick of Lawson, MO; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 2 grandchildren, Donovan Short and Joshua Willbanks.
