George Andrew Shaw, of Blue Springs, MO, a laid back and soft-spoken man who loved music, played his final note on December 30, 2021. He was 60 years old. George was born on December 24, 1961 in Omaha, Nebraska, to James and Martha Shaw. He graduated from Edina High School in Edina, MN in the class of 1980, then went on to attend Graceland College in Lamoni, IA for 2 years. While at Graceland, he played ice hockey, was in a band called Flatrock, and met the love of his life, Karen Heath. On July 5, 1985, George married Karen in Independence, MO, and to this union 2 children were born: Kristin and Steven. George completed his education at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO, earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. For more than 30 dedicated years, he worked for AT&T in the office of the president, handling customer service relations. George was a great husband, father, son, and brother. His family and friends knew him as a northern guy from Minnesota, who enjoyed spending most of his time outdoors, be it fishing, hunting, boating or golfing. He loved to cook anything and everything, from bagels to barbeque and was an excellent chef. His latest hobby was growing his own peppers and vegetables, bottling his own little creations and also made a variety of his signature hot sauce flavors! Along with his buddies from Graceland college, George was a proud member of a fantasy football league. Every Thursday night, his friends from his fantasy league and Graceland College would meet up for pizza and drinks. This past December, George was the ultimate winner for fantasy football and will be taking the trophy with him.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Heath Shaw; children, Kristin Shaw, Steven Shaw and Kristen Eversole; siblings, Craig (Donna) Shaw, Stephanie (Barbara) Shaw, Christi (Richard) Shaw-Hauge, and Dana (Talin) Midby; and parents, James Leslie and Martha Anne Shaw.
