Roland R. Shaw

Roland R. Shaw, 73, Appleton City, Mo., formerly of Buckner, Mo. died Oct. 30, 2004. Services will be 2 pm, Thursday, Nov. 4 at Speaks Buckner Chapel; interment at Buckner Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 pm, Wed. at the funeral home. Roland was born Feb. 8, 1931 in Seuila, Co. and grew up in Buckner. Following his graduation from Buckner High School in 1949 he joined the Navy and served in the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post #8101, Buckner, Mo. He was an auto mechanic at various locations around the area. Survivors include daughter Elizabeth Kay Nelson and husband Kent, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; son Roger Neal Shaw and wife, Mariena, Wellsville, KS; brothers Arlin Shaw, Jim Shaw, both of Buckner, Mo.; Vernon Shaw, Milton, Fl.; sisters Lois Berner, Tempe, Az.; Nancy Mintor, North Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
