Patricia Ann Shearer (Vaughn)

Patricia Ann Shearer, 79 of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052 with visitation to follow. Patricia was born May 4, 1936 in Independence, MO to Hyman and Dorothy (Smith) Vaughn and has been a lifelong area resident graduating form Northeast High School in 1954. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother who enjoyed family sporting events, playing cards and most of all spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She worked as a yard supervisor for Adesa Auto Auctions for over 10 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and had attended Central Assembly Church in Independence, MO. She is survived by; 4 daughters, Patti Moran of Blue Springs, Mo, Paula Barker of Kansas City, MO, Pam Shearer of Independence, MO and Ginny Shearer of Oak Grove, MO; 6 sons, Rick Shearer of Windsor, MO, Steve Shearer and wife Judy of Independence, MO, Kevin Shearer and wife Renee of Cole Camp, MO, Josh Shearer of Kansas City, MO, Joe Shearer and wife Kim of Independence, MO and Terry Shearer of Kansas City, MO; 2 sisters, Judy Keplinger of Independence, MO and Melba Sharp of Cole Camp, MO; a brother, Kenny Vaughn of Cole Camp, MO; 29 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Shearer in 2002, a son, Robbie Shearer in 2005 and a sister, Sharon Davis. In Pat’s memory the family requests bright colored casual attire be worn at her services.
