Lola May Sheffer

Lola May Sheffer, 85, Independence, MO died Oct. 22, 2005 at Carmel Hills Living Center. Graveside services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005 at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 - 10:30 am, Tuesday at Carson-Speaks Chapel. The family suggests contributions to Odyssey Hospice. Lola was born Jan. 19, 1920 in Garden Grove, Iowa. She came to Independence as a child and graduated from William Chrisman High School. She worked for many years as a messenger at the Independence Sanitarium. She was a member of the Liberty Street Community of Christ. She is survived by her husband of 27 years Charles E. Sheffer, of the home; daughters Lola Jean Payton, Summerfield, FL; Billie Jo Mead, Blue Springs, MO; Jeanette Ann Tolley, Independence, MO; step-daughters Sharon Gunstream, Shreveport, LA; Belinda Hicks, Carthage, TX; Vicky Carter, Marshall, TX; seventeen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren
