James "Charles" Matthew Shepherd

James Charles Matthew Shepherd, 21 of Greenwood, MO passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 28, 2021 at Pebble Creek Assembly of God Church, 13800 E 51 St S, Kansas City, MO 64133 with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, MO. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Donations may be made to the Jackson County Humane Society. Charles was born February 29, 2000 in Kansas City, MO to Gerald Wayne and Jill (Perkins) Shepherd and has been a lifelong area resident. He had worked as a cashier for Casey’s General Store and as a custodian for the Ray-Pec School District. He enjoyed playing on computers and was a dog lover, especially his puppy, Shyla. He graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 2018. Survivors include; his father, Gerald Shepherd of Greenwood, MO; 3 siblings, Jared Shepherd, Jackie Shepherd and Jeffrey Shepherd all of the home and 2 step siblings, Jenny Harris of Belton, MO and Jason Shepherd of N. Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jill Shepherd in 2016.
