Richard Shepherd

Richard Dale Shepherd, 77 of Buckner, MO, passed away, Oct. 6, 2014. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening, Oct. 9, 2014 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel 300 Adams St., Buckner, MO 64016. A brief committal service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 10, 2014 at the IOOF Cemetery in Monet, MO. Donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society. Richard was born on November 23, 1936 in Southern, MO, but was a longtime resident of Buckner, MO. He had worked as a cook at Stephenson’s in Independence for a number of years. He enjoyed model railroads and reading. He was a volunteer dispatcher for the Ft. Osage Fire Dist. for over 20 years. Survivors include; a brother, Bill Box and wife Sharon of Buckner; a nephew Darrel Box and a niece, Sandra Swanson.
