Patricia Sue Shields, 68, of Independence, MO passed away on November 22, 2022. Patricia was born on October 21, 1954, in Independence, MO to Leo Jack and Martha Ellen (Wyatt) Morgan. After graduating from VanHorn High School in 1972, Patricia went on to become an integral part of her community, both in her occupation as a cashier and volunteer. While working, it was not uncommon to see a line of 20 people willingly gathering at her station, knowing that she would bring some joy to their day. Outside of work, Patricia was involved in Boy Scout Troop 492, as well as at the district level. As co-founder of P.A.R.K.S., she helped lead the efforts in rebuilding Cler-Mont School Park. When not working or volunteering, Patricia could be found crafting. She was affectionately known by all the kids in the neighborhood as “Nana” and will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Christy Pratt; grandchildren, Robert Cory Shields Pratt and Ashley Michelle Pratt; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Rose Atherton and Aurora Sue Pratt-Hensley; and brother, Stephen Morgan. She is preceded in death by her son, Robert Wayne Shields, Jr.; by her sisters, Carol Lynn Smock and Sandy Green.
